Job summary

Air Space Intelligence (ASI) is hiring a Technical Lead for the Civil Aviation team to define the architectural foundations of a backend system central to U.S. air travel.

You will ensure a maintainable platform, guiding design choices from concept to production, while remaining hands-on. You will lead a small engineering team, collaborate with product, platforms, and domain experts, and uphold high standards for reliability, scalability, and real-time data processing in a safety-critical

Qualifications

• Strong experience building production-grade backend or distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Rust and Python with ability to learn quickly.
• Experience with real-time data pipelines and low-latency systems.
• Experience with data integration, storage, processing, and modeling.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience leading small engineering teams and owning end-to-end systems.
• Track record of setting technical direction across projects.
• Ability to navigate complex multi-system environments with evolving data models.
• High bar for engineering quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Strong collaboration across mission-critical teams with stakeholders.
• Exposure to high-availability systems and modern LLM tooling.
• Domain experience in aviation/geospatial fields is a plus.
