Job summary

TechDoQuest seeks a Software Architect to drive the Testbed platform's evolution. You will collaborate with management, steering and advisory committees to craft the long-term technical roadmap and oversee CI/CD, deployment, and feature integration.

You will lead customer onboarding, training, and demonstrations, and participate in sales calls to provide compelling technical guidance. AWS testbeds and OSS-based tooling are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience with 5G RAN/Core network components and architecture; O-RAN knowledge is a plus.
• Strong background in system integration and testing using open-source tools.
• Familiarity with Open5GS, OAI RAN, and related testbed toolchains.

Responsibilities

• Act as a resident technical SME for the Testbed platform and define its long-term roadmap.
• Lead customer onboarding, training sessions, and demonstrations both 1-on-1 and at events.
• Contribute to sales calls with technical expertise and promote the platform at industry events.
• Manage user accounts, onboarding, and training for new Testbed users.
• Break down problems into deliverable increments and maintain technical backlog integrity.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies to plan incremental releases and acceptance criteria.
• Provide support for test automation and define release baselines.
• Oversee development, deployment, and CI of the Testbed platform.
• Gather requirements, create roadmaps, and manage design-team backlogs and acceptance criteria.
• Identify integration tools, monitor OSS updates, track 3GPP features, and create AWS testbeds.

Job description

Software Architect role for the Testbed platform development:

Act as a resident technical subject matter expert for the Testbed platform.

Analyze the platform’s evolutionary needs and understand customer use cases, in active collaboration with the management team.

Work with staff and volunteer steering committees and advisory committees to develop the long-term technical roadmap for the product.

Conduct training or demonstrations with new and potential customers — either 1-on-1, or 1-to-many at industry events or online.

Promote the platform at industry events as needed/requested.

Participate in sales calls as needed to provide technical expertise.

Create and manage user accounts of the Testbed platform; onboard, support and train new users.

Break down business problems into value-added deliverable increments.

Approve user stories, managing and prioritizing the technical teams’ backlog while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the product/feature requirements.

Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint reviews and retrospectives) to plan incremental releases and define release objectives.

Provide support for test automation and story acceptance criteria.

Accept/Reject user stories in the release baseline.

Oversee the process of software development, deployment of new elements and continuous integration of the Testbed platform.

Summary / JD

Participate in client and customer meetings, conduct technical onboarding sessions, and resolve technical issues.

Requirements & Roadmap Management:

Gather and analyze requirements, create roadmaps for future development, and manage sprints, backlogs, and acceptance criteria for the design team.

Identify tools for testbed integration, monitor open-source updates to upgrade the platform as needed, monitor 3GPP releases for new features and functionalities, and create testbeds in AWS for trials and subscribers.

Note:

Need to bring AI and Physical layer research (Massive MIMO, Beam forming, Ray tracing, channel optimizations etc.) capabilities to the Testbed as we need to align for 6G research and development.

Optimization & Industry Engagement:

Provide continuous improvements to the testbed platform, implement cost-optimization mechanisms in AWS, and participate in events.

Required Skills

• Good understanding & work experience of cellular 5G RAN/Core network components & architecture for 5G — O-RAN experience is preferred.
• System integration & testing — Open-source tools like OAI RAN, OCU(D)U, Open5GS
