We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical & Electronics Engineer with 5-8 years of hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, schematic development, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and component validation. The engineer will work at the customer location and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development, sustaining engineering, manufacturing, and production builds. The role requires strong analytical capability, practical problem-solving skills, and a commitment to product quality, reliability, and timely issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Circuit & Schematic Design
- Design, develop, review, and modify analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic circuits.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, design records, and engineering documentation.
- Support design changes and engineering change implementation while ensuring technical accuracy and traceability.
- Participate in design reviews and recommend improvements for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting
- Perform structured root cause analysis and failure investigations for electrical and electronic systems.
- Troubleshoot complex circuit-level, PCB-level, subsystem-level, and system-level issues.
- Define and implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive technical issues through closure.
- Analyze production defects, field failures, and customer-reported issues using data-driven problem-solving methods.
- Evaluate alternate or replacement components for obsolescence, availability, reliability, and cost considerations.
- Conduct electrical, functional, and reliability testing of components, PCB assemblies, and electronic subsystems.
- Validate form, fit, function, interface compatibility, and compliance with applicable design specifications.
- Prepare test plans, document results, summarize technical findings, and provide qualification recommendations.
Production Build & Manufacturing Support
- Provide hands-on engineering support during prototype, pilot, production, and sustaining builds.
- Partner with manufacturing and operations teams to resolve build issues and maintain production continuity.
- Support production readiness through design reviews, test coverage assessment, and risk identification.
- Drive continuous improvements in manufacturability, yield, quality, and troubleshooting effectiveness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Service, and Supplier teams.
- Coordinate with global stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve design, component, and production challenges.
- Communicate technical risks, findings, recommendations, and action plans clearly to engineering and program stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers when required.
Skill Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5-8 years of relevant industry experience in electrical or electronics engineering.
- Strong knowledge of circuit design, schematic development, electronic components, and electronic systems.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting PCB assemblies and electronic subsystems.
- Proven experience in root cause analysis, failure analysis, corrective actions, testing, and validation.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations and production builds in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong technical documentation, report-writing, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, logic analyzers, power supplies, and related laboratory equipment.
- Experience with schematic and PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), component lifecycle management, and obsolescence engineering.
- Exposure to structured quality and problem-solving methods such as 8D, FMEA, CAPA, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience in semiconductor equipment, industrial automation, electronics manufacturing, medical devices, automotive electronics, or similar regulated/high-reliability environments.
- Strong analytical thinking and systematic problem-solving ability.
- Effective collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and supplier organizations.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly in an onsite customer environment.
