Festo Didactic is accepting applications for a Technical Instructor of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies. The instructor will work with the Industrial Workforce Development Manager and use curriculum prepared by Festo to teach advanced manufacturing topics including fluid power, PLC, and robotics.

Extensive travel is required to customer sites within the service area. The role demands at least three years in related fields, ability to train employees of varying knowledge levels, and experience

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years' work experience in advanced manufacturing, mechatronics, process control, engineering, or related field.
  • Must demonstrate previous experience delivering training to employees.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge to provide instruction in advanced manufacturing topics (fluid power, PLC, maintenance, electricity, mechatronics, robotics, LEAN).
  • Use of computer and presentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training using curriculum developed by Festo and revised with training team.
  • Conduct site visits/evaluations to businesses and industry; maintain public relations within service area.
  • Travel up to 75% and attend customer sites with 3-5 overnight stays per visit.
  • Adapt pedagogical approach to different knowledge levels.

Summary of job contents

Festo Didactic is accepting applications for a Technical Instructor of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.

Key accountabilities

The Technical Instructor shall be directly responsible to Festo Didactic's Industrial Workforce Development Manager. The instructor shall use curriculum developed, planned, and prepared by Festo to include assignments and instructional aides. The instructor will work with the training team to keep these revised and up to date to meet the requirements of industry. Conduct site visits/evaluations to businesses and industry; and establish and maintain good public relations within the service area. Willingness to learn autonomously topics linked not necessarily to your actual specialization.

Extensive travel is required.

Knowledge and Experience
  • High School Diploma, Technical Diploma, or higher degree in related field
  • Minimum three (3) years' work experience in advanced manufacturing, mechatronics, process control, engineering, or related field.
  • Must demonstrate previous experience delivering training to employees.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge, skills, and experience to provide effective instruction in advanced manufacturing topics to include fluid power, PLC, maintenance, precision measurements, electricity, foundational manufacturing concepts, mechatronics, industrial robotics, and LEAN manufacturing concepts.
  • Use of computer and presentation tools.
  • Normal standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Work is performed in a training room and shop setting with frequent interruptions and distractions.
  • Ability to adapt pedagogical approach to Customer's knowledge and skills (from operators to university professors).
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects in a training room and shop setting.
  • Frequent air travel to customer sites with 3-5 overnight hotel stays per visit
  • Up to 75% travel expected.
  • Operate a motor vehicle to travel within the service area and in other areas as needed.
  • Candidate must not have any legal restrictions for travelling or cannot be considered for this position.

The annual base pay range for this role is between $80,000 - $100,000.
