Job summary

Festo Corporation in Ohio Mason is seeking an assembler for pneumatic products. You will assemble, repair and test components on the shop floor using hand tools, fixtures, adhesives and lubricants, reading drawings to position parts and operating drills and grinders as needed.

The role requires experience in a manufacturing environment, basic computer skills, familiarity with SAP is a plus, and a disciplined approach to safety, quality, and equipment use.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing/warehouse experience or equivalent
• Basic computer skills required
• SAP experience is a plus
• Reading blueprints is a plus
• Familiarity with hand tools and metric system
• Knowledge of safety standards
• Familiarity with measuring equipment and machine tools

Responsibilities

• Assemble units using hand tools, fixtures and adhesives.
• Operate drills, lathes, milling machines and grinders as needed.
• Test products during assembly and final production.
• Verify lot traceability and conformance to specs.
• Receive and sort work orders; inspect returns.

Summary of job contents

Assemble, repair and test pneumatic related products by using various hand tools, assembly fixtures, adhesives and lubricants for customer applications and stock orders to specified requirements. Works at bench or on shop floor by performing the following duties.

Key accountabilities

• Follows Standard work instructions for the complete assembly.
• Assembles units by using various hand tools, assembly fixtures, adhesives and lubricants.
• Using specialty machinery and tools to fasten part and pieces together.
• Safely performs all job duties
• Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, or other fasteners.
• Uses various hand tools and measuring equipment such as: drills, pliers, taps, calipers and micrometers to complete special application orders.
• Receives, verifies, and separates work orders for components.
• Ensures Lot Traceability with all components of the production order.
• Verifies conformance of all components to specifications
• Reads and interprets pneumatic/electrical drawings to position parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled.
• Operates drill presses, lathes, milling machines and grinders to assist in assembly operation.
• Performs testing of products during the assembly and final stage of production.
• Evaluation and analysis of non-conforming material returns.
• Inspection and repair of customer returns.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience in manufacturing/warehouse environment or equivalent combination of education/experience
• Basic computer skills
• Experience with SAP or similar system is a plus
• Experience reading blueprints a plus
• Knowledge of hand tools and the Metric system
• Knowledge of basic safety standards and practices
• Knowledge of measuring equipment and machine tools
