Job summary

Carotek, a SunSource company in North Carolina, seeks an energetic, technically inclined individual to join the Mechanical group in an administrative and technical customer-service role. You will support the outside sales staff, handle inquiries on pumps, filtration, heat exchangers, and steam products, and help select and quote equipment based on customer needs.

A two-year degree or equivalent is required; engineering degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required; two to four years of related experience or training is acceptable.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding service to customers and support to outside sales staff regarding mechanical equipment orders.
• Answer telephone calls or respond to customer correspondence regarding technical questions on products or systems; engage in technical discussions to identify correct product and advise on substitution or modification when needed.
• Select and specify products based on customer application and design prerequisites; coordinate with service technicians and managers to resolve complex problems.
• Provide detailed product quotations by computing price, discount, and shipping charges within company guidelines; inform customers of pricing, back orders, delivery status, and any order-related issues.
