Job summary

Morningstar, Inc. is seeking a Technical Event Producer / AV Event Technician to support executive, corporate, hybrid, webinar, and live-streamed events in our Chicago campus.

You will operate and support advanced production, broadcast, conferencing, audio, video, lighting, streaming, and room-control systems. As part of the Auditorium and meeting spaces, you will partner with event owners and vendors to plan, rehearse, execute, and troubleshoot productions, ensuring calm, high‑quality live

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience producing technical elements for corporate events, meetings, remote productions, webinars, and live streams.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Teams and Zoom event delivery, plus PTZ cameras, audio mixers, production switchers, lighting, and encoders.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics, lead crews, work independently, and troubleshoot during live production.
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder service skills.

Responsibilities

• Own technical delivery from intake and event design through rehearsal, live execution, recording, debrief, and media handoff.
• Operate auditorium, control room, audio, video, projection, camera, lighting, teleprompting, streaming, and room-control systems.
• Support events across corporate offices and external venues, including remote participants across time zones.
• Create production plans, run‑of‑show documents, cue sheets, and presenter instructions.
• Lead technical checks, rehearsals, and system validation before live events.
• Monitor platform health and manage incidents during live events, providing workarounds as needed.
