Job summary

PACIV is seeking an experienced Technical Estimator in Indianapolis to develop scopes of work, solutions, and project estimates for automation, controls, instrumentation, and validation across pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial manufacturing settings.

You will partner with engineering, operations, and suppliers to define project scope, review specifications, and craft accurate bids that drive strategic project decisions and business growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in instrumentation, validation (CQV), system integration, or process automation.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and project scopes.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical and cost estimates for automation, controls, instrumentation, and validation projects.
  • Review project specifications, engineering documents, and client requirements.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to define project scope and execution strategies.
  • Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical information.
  • Help identify the most effective technical solutions for client needs.
  • Participate in proposal development and client discussions.
  • Support projects across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food & beverage, and industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Build relationships with clients, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.

Are you an Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer, Validation Engineer, System Integrator, or Project Engineer looking for a new challenge?

We are looking for a Technical Estimator to join our Indianapolis team to develop scopes of work, solutions, and project estimates for automation, controls, instrumentation, and validation projects across wastewater and manufacturing facilities.

This is an opportunity to move beyond the day-to-day project execution and have a direct impact on project strategy, technical solutions, and business growth while continuing to leverage your engineering expertise.

What You Will Do
  • Develop technical and cost estimates for automation, controls, instrumentation, and validation projects
  • Review project specifications, engineering documents, and client requirements
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to define project scope and execution strategies

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Instrumentation
  • Validation (CQV)
  • System Integration
  • Process Automation
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and project scopes
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred
  • Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience developing project estimates, proposals, or technical documentation
  • Familiarity with PLC-based control systems, instrumentation systems, process automation, or validation activities
