Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight (surveillance, walk-throughs, audits, etc.) of on-site contractor operations for regulatory compliance.
• Deliver a compliance status, recommendations for resolution, and reports to management and DOE on a daily/weekly or specified frequency.
• Evaluate on-site contractor compliance with applicable regulations and program requirements.
• Review ER/EC documents, programs, and deliverables for regulatory conformity.
• Track milestones and deadlines for Ohio EPA responses.
• Assist DOE with drafting letters, reports, and other correspondence related to on-site contractors.
• Prepare presentations for DOE meetings and weekly/monthly ER/RC accomplishments.
• Support the Portsmouth Site real property lease program and related documentation.

ETAS Inc. has upcoming opportunity for a Technical EntryPoint I (Direct Hire) position at our office in Portsmouth, OH.

ETAS was formed and dedicated to support the Department of Energy (DOE) Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO) with technical and management services contributing to the safe and cost effective implementation of the “One PPPO” mission.

Job Description

Works under close ETAS supervision in performance of tasks supporting administrative or technical divisions including the following areas:

• Provide technical oversight (surveillance, walk-throughs, audits, etc.) of all phases of on-site contractor operations, as it relates to regulatory compliance.


• Provide a compliance status, recommendations for resolution, and/or reports to management and DOE on a daily, weekly, or other specified frequency.


• Evaluate on-site contractor’s compliance with applicable requirements or regulations and against all applicable programs and procedures


• Provide technical review of Environmental Restoration/Regulatory Compliance (ER/EC) documents, programs, procedures, deliverables, and other documents, as directed to ensure the documents are in compliance with various regulatory requirements.


• Track milestones and when documents or responses to comments are due to the Ohio EPA.


• Assist DOE with drafting of contract documents, letters, reports, briefings, presentations, checklists, and other correspondence related to the on-site contractors, as requested.


• Prepare presentations for DOE meetings, as required.


• Prepare weekly/monthly ER/RC accomplishments.


• Learn technical and/or administrative aspects of areas of study while supporting entry-level needs of the department.


• Provide technical oversight of the Nickel Reclamation Project.


• Support DOE with the implementation of the Portsmouth Site real property leases. This includes evaluating existing and future leases for requirements and tracking those requirements to completion. It also requires authoring letters to lessees in response to submittals and inquiries by the lessee to DOE.


• Support DOE legal team on issues of environmental policy and decision making.


• Demonstrates ability to work well with coworkers, customers, and visitors.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in technical or scientific field, such as but not limited to engineering, Environmental sciences, chemistry, biology, and similar fields.

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
