Job summary

The Army National Guard is seeking a Technical Engineer to help plan and repair airstrips, docks, roads, and other major projects. You will learn surveying, drafting, and construction plan development through phased military training that includes classroom and field components.

Training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and 17 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid benefits and the potential for a civilian career in construction, engineering, or architecture after completion.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.

Responsibilities

• Draw topographic maps and charts using CAD systems.
• Conduct geodetic and construction surveys using surveying instruments and GPS technology.
• Provide technical support for vertical and horizontal construction projects.
