Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Technical Engineer to help plan and support construction projects including airstrips, docks, barracks, roads, and more. You will learn surveying, drafting, and construction plan development while earning a paycheck.

Training lasts 10 weeks of Basic Training followed by 17 weeks of Advanced Individual Training; you will work with civilian construction fields and receive tuition assistance and other benefits. Age and citizenship requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in Army National Guard is required.
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between ages 17 and 35.
• Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Draw topographic maps and charts using CAD systems.
• Conduct geodetic and construction surveys with survey technology.
• Provide technical support for vertical and horizontal construction projects.
