This contingent position aligns with proposal wins and requires on-site Washington, D.C. area work and strict background checks as part of federal contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, English, journalism, communications, science, engineering, transportation, public policy, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of technical editing, writing, or publication production experience.
• Ability to edit complex technical content for clarity, accuracy, and publication readiness.
• Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and editorial conventions.
• Experience applying GPO and APA style guides; familiarity with Section 508 accessibility.

Responsabilités

• Edit client deliverables for clarity, structure, technical accuracy, and publication readiness.
• Provide substantive editing, copyediting, proofreading, and reference checking across production stages.
• Verify technical accuracy of text, tables, figures, and captions; ensure consistency.
• Apply GPO, APA, and client style guidelines.
• Review materials for Section 508 accessibility and accessible formatting.
• Perform final quality control and coordinate multi-round reviews with stakeholders.
• Maintain version control and work under tight federal timelines.
