Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Editor to support the creation and maintenance of technical and non-technical documents in accordance with standards. The role includes assisting authors, proofreading, and ensuring clarity across project materials for diverse audiences.

The position requires 4+ years of editing experience, strong grammar knowledge, and proficiency in Microsoft Word. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative, employee-owned culture

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of technical editor experience preferred.
• Strong grammar, formats, and business writing knowledge.
• Proficiency in Word and document development/revision.
• Ability to edit and rewrite procedures clearly.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Commitment to quality control of internal/external docs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate creation and distribution of project communications.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including plans and reports.
• Edit and format engineering documents for clarity and consistency.
• Prepare PM plan reports with the project manager for new projects.
• Proofread and edit documents to ensure standards.
• Provide tactful feedback to authors of varying experience.
• Prepare documentation for regulatory audits and inspections.
• Assist engineers and PMs in modifying documents for accuracy.
• Stay informed on PM and technical writing best practices.
• Ensure clear and effective communication of project information.
