Job summary

Sylvan, Inc. is a market-leading automotive services contractor seeking a Technical Documentation Specialist Assistant in Detroit. You will write and modify project documentation, manage part/BOM data in databases, and prepare Work Orders and ABM for fabrication.

Collaboration across project teams is essential to deliver accurate drawings and procedures. The role requires reading mechanical drawings, experience with CAD, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and SQL databases.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field or relevant job experience.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings and creating technical documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Write and modify project technical documentation under supervision.
• Enter and retrieve part/BOM data into a database.
• Create Work Orders and ABM for fabrication and purchasing.
• Assemble drawing sets for release to fabrication.
• Coordinate with multiple project teams to meet deadlines.
• Develop maintenance procedures for conveyor components and FMEA documents.
• Enter parts/BOM information into a parts database and retrieve data as needed.
