Job summary

Sylvan, Inc. is seeking a Technical Documentation Specialist Assistant for the Conveyor Division in Michigan. The role requires reading mechanical drawings, developing BOMs, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with multiple project teams to ensure timely deliverables.

Ideal candidates have experience with SQL databases, SharePoint, MS Dataverse, and MS Power Apps, plus strong communication and organizational skills to manage complex documentation workflows.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience with technical drawings and documents.
• Experience with SQL database systems.
• Experience with SharePoint and MS Dataverse environments.
• Experience with MS Power Apps.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand mechanical detail drawings and technical documentation.
• Develop spare parts lists from materials on projects.
• Use CAD or drawing viewers to retrieve parts details.
• Write project ABMs and Work Orders for purchasing per guidance from Project Engineer.
• Collect drawings and sub-assembly drawings for fabrication based on ABMs and Work Orders.
• Collaborate with multiple project teams to create required documents in a timely manner.
• Develop maintenance procedures for conveyor components in customer formats.
• Develop FMEA/PFMEA documents from system drawings and operation data.
• Read drawings and enter parts/BOM information into a parts database.
• Search and retrieve parts/BOM information from databases.
• Complete tasks within project schedules, including OT as needed.
