Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions North America is seeking a Technical Development Engineer to lead the planning and execution for new manufacturing projects. You will collaborate with operations, tooling, process engineering, and automation to drive cost reductions and process improvements.

The role requires a BS in Engineering and strong costing knowledge, with travel as needed. You will communicate with vendors and internal teams and coordinate change management within ISO-aligned processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of manufacturing costing.
• Relevant experience in product development, manufacturing, and/or molding of closures, vials, overcaps, dispensing systems, etc.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and assertive individual.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, be a proactive thinker, and be results-oriented.
• Project Management experience a plus.
• Strategic mindset.
• Ability to evaluate and understand large manufacturing networks.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required for data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Technical Development Plan for RFQ responses or Business Case creation, including all cost inputs and capital equipment costs.
• Lead cross-functional teams to optimize processes and improve operational efficiencies.
• Oversee engineering changes or product design changes to optimize manufacturing.
• Lead technical communications with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Support customers, manufacturing and quality as the technical expert on maintenance and continuous improvement opportunities.
