Job summary

KLA Industries, Inc. in New York, NY is seeking a Technical Designer to join our growing team. The role focuses on developing accurate tech packs, executing garment fit, and partnering across functions to ensure quality, fit, and construction that align with brand standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate throughout the product development process while maintaining brand consistency. On-site in New YorkCity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field.
• 3–5 years of Technical Design experience in apparel.
• Experience with women's apparel; outerwear/activewear preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and CAD.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and fit evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed tech packs, including sketches, measurements, grading, construction details, and specifications.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), packaging requirements, care/content labels, carton markings, and related documentation.
• Conduct and participate in fit sessions using live models.
• Analyze fit, identify revisions, and communicate comments to vendors and internal teams.
• Review prototypes, fit samples, and pre-production garments with pattern makers and manufacturers.
• Ensure samples meet standards for fit, quality, construction, and design intent prior to production.
• Identify development and construction challenges and propose practical solutions balancing aesthetics, functionality, manufacturability, and cost.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Production, and external partners to support execution and timelines.
• Promote consistency in garment performance, durability, and customer satisfaction.
