Fourth Floor is seeking a Technical Designer to join the sleepwear division in New York. The role partners with Design, Product Development, and manufacturing to ensure each style meets vision and quality standards.

The candidate should take initiative, have a strong eye for detail, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment with WFH flexibility on Fridays.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Technical Design within the apparel industry.
• Degree or formal training in Technical Design, Pattern Making, or a related field.
• Hands-on ownership of projects from start to finish.
• Excellent organizational skills and a meticulous eye for detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.
• Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams.

Responsabilités

• Run model fittings and provide feedback on fit, construction, and garment execution.
• Oversee the sample process from initial development through TOP, keeping approvals and key milestones on schedule.
• Build accurate specifications and technical packages using design sketches, prototypes, and reference samples.
• Partner with Design and Product Development to evaluate silhouettes, construction details, measurements, and overall garment execution.
• Maintain visibility into the sample calendar and proactively manage priorities and deadlines.
• Review, assess, and sign off on pre-production samples.
• Develop fit specifications across a variety of product categories.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the Technical Design team.
• Build strong working relationships with vendors and manufacturing partners to resolve fit and production issues.

This person will serve as a key partner to Design, Product Development, and the manufacturing teams, ensuring each style meets the intended vision and quality standards.
