Job summary

G-III Apparel Group in New York City is seeking a Technical Designer to translate design visions into well-constructed garments for multiple brands. You will conduct fit sessions, communicate results to vendors and global offices, and ensure accurate measurements, construction details, and smooth information flow.

You will create initial specs to final graded specs, input corrections in tech packs, and support weekly production and fitting schedules while organizing seasonal trim libraries.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of apparel Technical Design experience.
• Prior technical design experience with menswear or related apparel category.
• BA/BS Degree required or AA Fashion Degree.

Responsibilities

• Measure garments and organize for fittings.
• Coordinate fit schedule and conduct fittings.
• Create initial spec to final full graded spec.
• Consult with designer to work on complicated garment construction and establish the fit for each brand.
• Input in Tech packs with corrections / comments during fitting.
• Create and manage Work In Progress reports.
• Coordinate the production / delivery schedule weekly and coordinate fitting and fit samples accordingly.
• Email / follow-up as needed with over-seas vendors.
• Organize and maintain seasonal trim card library.
