Job summary

Gensler in Seattle seeks a Technical Designer to collaborate with Design Directors to translate visions into BIM models and drawings. You will contribute to all project phases, address technical issues, and mentor others, fostering growth in a dynamic design environment.

Required are a related architecture degree and 3–6 years of experience, with strong Revit and 3D modeling skills across multiple software. The role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and delivering high-quality design solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited school.
  • 3-6 years of related architecture experience; residential and/or senior living project experience preferred, but not required.
  • Interest in architecture for residential multifamily design.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required.
  • Proficiency in modeling using 2D/3D software, such as CAD, Revit, Octane, 3dViz, 3ds MAX, and/or Rhino utilizing V-Ray.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements.
  • Demonstrated progress on AXP and/or ARE exams.
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
  • Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts

Your Role

As a Gensler Technical Designer, you will collaborate with our Design Directors to develop design solutions and coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of projects.   • The base salary will be estimated between $75,000 - $82,000 annually, plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
