Job summary

J.Crew Group is seeking a Technical Designer to evaluate incoming garments against vendor measurements and deadlines, and to lead fittings with cross-functional teams. You will build tech packs, collaborate with factories to resolve construction issues, and maintain daily communication with vendors and internal partners.

Qualifications

• College degree in technical design, fashion design or equivalent work experience.
• 2-4 years of technical design experience.
• Knowledge of fit, grade rules and sewing.
• Knowledge of pattern-making and draping.
• Experience with PLM, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Illustrator.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and measure incoming garments against vendor measurements and deadlines.
• Conduct and lead fittings with cross-functional team members.
• Build tech packs with garment sketches, standard sketches, construction sketches and details, trims and grade rules.
• Work independently with factories to resolve construction/sewing problems.
• Communicate daily with vendors and internal teams.
• Track samples and counter samples to meet all approval dates.
