Job summary

Gensler in Atlanta seeks a Technical Designer to join our hospitality, mixed‑use, residential, and workplace projects. You will meld design quality with technical rigor, delivering architecture that is functional and experiential.

You will collaborate with architects and designers, produce technical drawings in Revit, and support all project phases from concept through construction administration. A strong portfolio is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 3–6 years of relevant experience within a commercial design firm.
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
  • Experience with all phases of the design process from schematic design through construction administration, and field observation.
  • Strong proficiency with Revit.
  • Proficiency with SketchUp, Enscape, or other 3D modeling software, and the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for design excellence and continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices.

  • Support coordination with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
  • Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction.
  • Utilize hand drawings and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts.

Your Role

As a Technical Designer with Gensler’s team in Atlanta you will contribute to the design and delivery of some of the most complex and impactful Hospitality, Mixed Use, Residential, Critical Facilities, Retail and Workplace projects in the region. You will bring together design excellence, technical rigor, and strategic thinking to deliver architecture that is both deeply functional and experientially rich. You will work within a highly collaborative, client‑focused culture that values design quality, resilience, and social purpose.

What You Will Do
