Job summary

LabConnect is seeking a Technical Design Manager to independently lead complex technical and operational design initiatives supporting scalable service delivery and organizational effectiveness.

The role serves as an Operational Setup Advisor and Technical Advisor, driving cross-functional improvement, onboarding programs, and mentoring while shaping SOPs, training materials, and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in technical operations, project implementation, or related field.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders.
• Experience in clinical research, laboratory services, healthcare, or regulated environments.
• 5+ years in project initiation, clinical-trial setup, or central lab operations.
• Lean, Six Sigma, PMP or similar certification preferred.
• Lab/connect-related domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of complex operational and technical workflows.
• Act as Operational Setup Advisor or Technical Advisor for scalable solutions.
• Identify and improve processes to boost quality, productivity, and client experience.
• Develop process maps, SOPs, training materials, and operational docs.
• Translate business needs into practical designs and implementation plans.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support onboarding programs and knowledge transfer.
• Provide coaching and technical guidance without direct people management.
• Offer SME input during planning and readiness reviews.
• Establish measures and monitor performance trends to improve operations.
• Possibly lead project workstreams or coordinate small teams.
