Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead in a full-time capacity. You will guide software engineers, design and deliver enterprise solutions, and ensure alignment with IT standards while serving as a technical lead across project teams.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on coding, and collaboration with architects, developers, and business users to resolve complex problems and deliver reliable software solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5 years of software development experience.
• 3 years of experience in database technologies.
• Experience in applying development life cycles (SDLC).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of RPG, Java, Spring Boot and APIs design.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specifications; supports project lifecycle with leadership input.
• Reviews development or modification of highly complex enterprise software solutions.
• Balancing design/mentorship with hands-on delivery of code (50/50).
• Develops and validates highly complex software designs, ensuring alignment with architecture standards.
• Mentors team members and contributes to technical direction for integration across systems.
