Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking an Application Delivery Technical Lead to guide software engineers, align projects with business processes and IT standards, and deliver robust enterprise solutions. You will develop, review, and implement code while mentoring teams and ensuring strong technical direction across projects.

The role emphasizes a 50/50 split between design/mentorship and hands-on coding, with collaboration across architects, developers, and delivery managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
• 5 years of software development experience.
• Experience with RPG, Java, SQL, Angular & APIs design.

Responsibilities

• Provides consultation on business requirements and functional specs; supports project lifecycle.
• Reviews development or modification of complex enterprise software solutions.
• 50/50 role: design/mentorship and hands-on delivery of code.
• Develops software design prototypes and ensures adherence to architecture standards.
• Mentors others and guides the technical direction of projects.
• Manages code and production deployment processes per IT policies.
