Job Description:

The Technical Consulting Engagement Manager is primarily responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact, overseeing pre- and post-sales project delivery, ensuring client satisfaction, and strategically aligning projects within our Technical Consulting organization to meet broader business objectives. This role involves managing client expectations, fostering long-term partnerships, managing a portfolio of accounts, and driving successful project outcomes and client retention.

Key responsibilities of the Engagement Manager:
  1. Client Relationship Management: Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations to ensure a positive experience throughout the engagement.
  2. Project Oversight: Manage the day-to-day execution of client projects, including scope definition, timelines, budget, and quality control, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within specifications.
  3. Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate clear communication between clients and internal teams, acting as a liaison to address concerns, provide updates, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  4. Solution Development: Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement customized solutions that meet client requirements and address their business challenges.
  5. Performance Monitoring: Track project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain project success.
  6. Client Feedback Management: Actively solicit and analyze client feedback to identify areas for improvement and enhance the overall client experience.
  7. Business Development: Identify opportunities for expansion within existing client accounts, contributing to revenue growth and client retention.
Required Skills and Work Experience:
  • 12+ years of pre/post engagement management experience in an IT environment
  • Experience managing Mainframe Software projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated mastery of at least 10 years of IT project management experience using standard Work Breakdown Structures, Project Plans, Risk & Issue Management, Project Governance, and applying PMI project methodologies
  • Proven knowledge of Project Management methodologies with a PMP Certification; other industry certifications such as Scrum, ITIL, SAFe are a plus
  • Proven organizational and planning skills
  • Proven track record of delivering large or complex projects/programs on time and within budget
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; works well under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
  • Ability to effectively drive execution and own responsibility for overall project success
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Technical proficiency and customer-facing skills
  • Typically works independently without constant managerial oversight
  • Ability to make decisions independently and respond to client questions regarding scope, staffing, invoicing, resource allocations, and staffing requirements
  • Typically has a geographic focus on North America
  • Business travel of up to 25% annually may be required

Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of related experience required

Certification: PMP Certification is required

Additional Job Description:
Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $135,000.

This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and equity in accordance with relevant plan documents and equity award agreements.
