Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. in Carlsbad, NM seeks a Technical Consultant - I to provide program management oversight for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) management and operating contractor.

The role supports the SOID Project Manager across surface/underground operations, waste receipt, emplacement, and transportation, along with EVMS activities. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of hazardous or nuclear waste management, plus experience in DOE projects and cost/schedule

Qualifications

Expert knowledge in hazardous or nuclear waste generation or waste management.
Ability to provide oversight across nuclear facility operations, waste management activities, transportation activities, minor construction, and cost/schedule performance.
WIPP or DOE nuclear facility experience preferred.
US citizenship is required by government contract requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide program management oversight of the WIPP Management and Operating contractor.
Oversee surface and underground operations within the assigned program scope.
Monitor waste receipt and emplacement activities.
Oversee waste transportation activities associated with WIPP operations.
Monitor installation of Minor Construction Projects.
Evaluate Earned Value Management System activities and contractor cost/schedule performance.
