Charles IT is seeking a knowledgeable Technical Client Advisor in Chesapeake, VA. You will act as a trusted partner to assigned clients, aligning their business goals with technology strategy and guiding on challenges, escalations, and long-term IT planning.

The role requires strong communication, client relationship skills, and attention to detail, with collaboration across teams and a flexible hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT consulting or MSP leadership.
• Experience presenting to C-suite and business leaders.
• Ability to translate business goals into technology strategies and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted technology advisor aligning client IT with business goals.
• Communicate technology recommendations, risks, and initiatives to technical and executive stakeholders.
• Assess client environments for security, scalability, performance, and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain IT roadmaps, lead strategic reviews, oversee budgets, and support compliance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships; be the primary contact for strategic guidance and escalations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify client needs, define scope, and prioritize initiatives.
• Provide mentorship to internal team members and promote cross-department collaboration.
• Ensure strategies align with industry best practices, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned

We are looking for a knowledgeable and client-focused Technical Client Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to assigned clients, connecting their business goals with technology strategy while providing guidance on technical challenges, escalations, and long-term IT planning. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who builds lasting client relationships, collaborates effectively across teams, and brings exceptional organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted technology advisor, aligning client IT strategies with business objectives and long-term growth plans
• Communicate technology recommendations, risks, and strategic initiatives to both technical teams and executive stakeholders
• Assess client environments to identify opportunities for improved security, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency
• Develop and maintain IT roadmaps, lead strategic business reviews, oversee technology budgets, and support compliance initiatives
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for strategic guidance, issue resolution, and escalations
• Collaborate with internal technical teams to identify client needs, define project scope, and prioritize technology initiatives
• Provide guidance and mentorship to internal team members while promoting collaboration across departments
• Ensure client technology strategies align with industry best practices, security standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT consulting, account management, or technical leadership, preferably within a managed service provider (MSP) environment
• Demonstrated experience in strategic IT planning, technology budgeting, and working directly with C-suite executives and business leaders
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business objectives into effective technology strategies and solutionsRelevant industry certifications, such as MCSA, VCP, or CCNA, are preferred
• Familiarity with ConnectWise, Cisco, Meraki, Datto, VMware, Microsoft 365, and advanced macOS support is a plus
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills, with a strong commitment to follow-through in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage responsibilities independently and with minimal supervision
• Ability to work an average of approximately 47 hours per week, including occasional evening client dinners and industry events
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and successfully pass a background check
