Company Job Title: Technical Assembler
Reports To: Shipping Supervisor
FLSA Status: Full time Non-Exempt
Summary:
- The candidate must assemble, package, and label materials according to company or customer drawings and specifications to ship to their desired location.
- Starting hourly rate for this position is $19.50 per hour.
- Work hours are from 7AM to 3PM, with a 30-minute paid lunch.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble components using hand and power tools.
- Inspect components and complete assemblies for conformity, following all handling procedures.
- Maintain safe work habits, adhering to PPE and OSHA requirements.
- Report to work at scheduled times and be prepared to start at the beginning of your shift.
- Maintain cleanliness in your work area and throughout the building.
- Package products to ensure they arrive in acceptable condition.
- Return all tools and equipment at the end of your shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with shipping, receiving, and warehouse components is helpful but not required.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret drawings and work instructions.
- Ability to assemble products per drawings and specifications.
- Ability to use torque wrenches, calipers, and other measuring tools.
- Automotive experience is helpful but not required.
- Computer skills are helpful but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to use Manufacturing Systems for scanning and research.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Mechanical aptitude for using hand and power tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and overtime as needed.
- Ability to become forklift certified and operate overhead cranes.
Physical Demands:
- Regular talking and hearing.
- Standing, lifting, stooping, and walking for extended periods.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for lifting and assembling.
Work Environment:
- Work on the production floor, exposed to extreme weather, fumes, airborne particles, and noise.
