Job summary

Danfoss Climate Solutions seeks an experienced Technical Application Engineer for Industrial Cooling and HVAC/R in OEM contexts, with strong thermodynamics knowledge and hands-on experience with chillers, heat exchangers, and compressors.

The role involves owning technical responsibility for product integration, providing on-site support, and coordinating with R&D and logistics to ensure optimal performance across the DACH/OEM ecosystem. Remote work within DACH is possible.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering with a thermodynamics specialization.
• PhD/doctorate in refrigeration systems is a plus.
• Proven and transferable experience in field engineering roles, preferably in moderately structured international environments operating in industrial HVAC/R and OEM contexts.
• In-depth knowledge of compressors (screw, centrifugal, scroll), refrigeration circuits, and heat transfer systems.
• Expertise in the diagnostics and optimization of BPHE and MCHE (Microchannel coil) heat exchangers.
• Strong understanding of energy efficiency principles and reliability of complex systems.
• Ability to work autonomously in the field and effectively interface with international technical teams.
• Business Fluent English and German, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced analysis of HVAC/R systems, assessing the interaction between Danfoss products and complex OEM installations in the DACH region.
• Provide on-site technical support to customer teams, resolving issues related to system installation, performance, and reliability.
• Oversee the correct implementation, verification, and qualification of products at OEM customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on compressors, heat exchangers (BPHE and MCHE (Microchannel coil), and refrigeration circuits, with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and operational optimization.
• Analyze data collected during qualification and operation phases, identifying opportunities for technical improvement.
• Deliver advanced technical training, both internally and externally, documenting procedures and best practices.
• Coordinate activities with R&D, laboratories, TPM, and logistics for component validation, testing, and special applications.

Are you an experienced engineer (m/f/d) with a passion for advanced HVAC/R systems, and hands‑on experience with industrial refrigeration systems and heat pumps?
Danfoss Climate Solutions is looking for a Technical Application Engineer (m/f/d) Industrial Cooling and HVAC/R with strong technical expertise to apply directly in OEM environments in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
The role involves taking technical responsibility for the operation and integration of products from the Cooling portfolio (chillers, compressors, Heat exchanger, heat pumps) for OEM customers. The position will act as a key technical reference, ensuring optimal performance, supporting the integration of our components with customers' refrigeration systems, and transferring specialized technical know‑how. The role could be home-office based within the DACH region.
