We are partnering with a large, fast-growing organization seeking an experienced Technical Accounting Manager for a 6-month consulting engagement. This position will serve as a key technical resource for ASC 606 revenue recognition, providing guidance on complex transactions, contract structures, accounting conclusions, and financial reporting matters.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting expertise and can operate independently while partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting analysis for complex revenue arrangements under ASC 606
• Review contracts and determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment
• Research complex accounting matters and develop well-supported accounting conclusions
• Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda
• Evaluate performance obligations, transaction price, variable consideration, contract modifications, and other ASC 606 considerations
• Provide technical guidance to accounting and finance teams on revenue-related matters
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and financial reporting activities related to revenue
• Review revenue-related accounting entries, reconciliations, disclosures, and supporting schedules
• Partner with legal, finance, operations, and other stakeholders to evaluate accounting implications of contractual arrangements
• Serve as a key resource for internal and external auditors
• Strengthen revenue recognition policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve and scale technical accounting processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Significant ASC 606 and technical revenue recognition experience
• Strong U.S. GAAP technical accounting knowledge
• Experience researching and documenting complex accounting conclusions
• Ability to interpret complex contracts and translate terms into appropriate accounting treatment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Experience

• CPA strongly preferred
• Big 4 or national public accounting experience
• Experience within a large, complex, or high-growth organization
• Experience with sophisticated or non-standard customer contracts and revenue arrangements
• Prior experience leading technical accounting projects or serving as a subject matter expert
