Job summary

Brewer Morris is partnering with a Top 15 National CPA and Advisory Firm to hire a Technical Accounting Manager for its CFO Advisory Practice. This role focuses on SEC reporting, technical accounting, and financial reporting, collaborating directly with CFOs, Controllers and senior leaders on complex matters.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within public accounting, advisory, or a combination of both
• Direct SEC reporting experience, including knowledge of Regulations S-X and S-K
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research
• Experience preparing public company financial statements and disclosures
• Prior leadership experience managing teams and client engagements

Responsibilities

• Lead SEC reporting and external financial statement preparation for public company clients
• Draft and review financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, equity roll-forwards, and EPS calculations
• Perform technical accounting research and prepare supporting documentation related to complex accounting issues
• Analyze new accounting pronouncements and advise clients on implementation and reporting impacts
• Interpret and apply U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and other relevant accounting guidance
• Coordinate with management teams and external auditors throughout reporting cycles
• Support clients with accounting and reporting considerations related to transactions, capital raises, and strategic initiatives
• Mentor and develop team members while managing multiple engagements
• Participate in business development efforts and help strengthen client relationships

I’m partnering with a Top 15 National CPA and Advisory Firm that is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join its growing CFO Advisory Practice.

This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong background in SEC reporting, technical accounting, and financial reporting who enjoys working directly with CFOs, Controllers, and executive leadership teams on complex accounting, transaction, and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SEC reporting and external financial statement preparation for public company clients
• Draft and review financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, equity roll-forwards, and EPS calculations
• Perform technical accounting research and prepare supporting documentation related to complex accounting issues

Ideal Experience

• Big 4 or leading middle-market public accounting firm experience
• Technical accounting expertise in one or more of the following areas: SPAC transactions, Capital markets, Transaction Advisory Services (TAS), Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS), IPO readiness and public company preparedness
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Exposure to a variety of industries and business models
• A blend of public accounting, consulting, and in-house accounting experience is highly attractive
