Job summary

Career Movement is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its technical accounting function in Chicago, IL. This individual contributor role collaborates closely with corporate accounting leadership to ensure accurate, compliant external reporting and defensible technical research.

You will prepare and review Form 10-K and 10-Q components, draft technical memos on revenue recognition and lease accounting, and monitor ASC 606/ASC 842 guidance while supporting the quarterly close and SOX controls.

Qualifications

• CPA certification required.
• Experience preparing/reviewing Form 10-K and Form 10-Q.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Independent contributor with cross-department collaboration.
• Excellent written memo drafting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review components of the Form 10-K and Form 10-Q filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SEC requirements
• Draft and maintain technical accounting memos addressing revenue recognition and lease accounting matters
• Research emerging accounting standards and assess their impact on the company's financial reporting
• Partner with external auditors during quarterly reviews and the annual audit
• Support the monthly and quarterly close process related to complex transactions
• Collaborate cross functionally with FP&A, legal, and business unit finance teams on transaction accounting
• Assist in maintaining internal controls and documentation to support SOX compliance
• Monitor changes in ASC 606 and ASC 842 guidance and recommend updates to accounting policy

Requirements

• Strong written communication skills, particularly for drafting technical memos
