Technical Account Manager, Advanced Materials

Technical Account Manager for the Advanced Materials Business Unit. Covering the West Coast territory, the candidate must be located in California; this is a fully remote role.

IMCD is a leading company in sales, marketing, and distribution of specialty chemicals and food ingredients. We represent major global producers, and our corporate headquarters are in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Technical Account Manager. The Technical Account Manager has a dynamic and challenging role and plays an important part in IMCD’s objective to grow earnings for our strategic principals.

Responsibilities
  1. Proficiency of the sales cycle from manufacturing stage to the delivery and customer satisfaction stage
  2. Develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business
  3. Continue to adopt and utilize important tools in our digitalization journey
  4. Assist in establishing relationships and creating an environment to defend and preserve existing sales
  5. Identifies new market opportunities as well as target builds; seeks out competitive & market information
  6. Establishes and maintains processes that ensure accurate budget and forecast information for the business
  7. Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel
  8. Conduct frequent account planned visits, interacting on a recurrent basis with key customers
  9. Research and understand your target market and key economic conditions/issues at major accounts
  10. Work closely with sales support, supply chain, customer service, etc.
  11. Formulate, monitor and improve selling plans and all sales-related activities, in alignment with the strategic imperatives of the business
  12. Attending trainings for suppliers, IMCD, and sales meetings
  13. Consistent use of Salesforce.com for maintaining up-to-date customer interaction and pipeline management
  14. Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or General Sciences preferred
  2. Five years of sales experience in the chemical or related industry
Desired Qualifications
  1. Master’s Degree or Technical degree
  2. Formulation and/or formula production experience is a plus
  3. Experience in Plastic, Rubber, or Composite markets preferred

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job currently operates in a remote work environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise directed. Additional hours may be required as needed.

Travel

Travel required, around 40%.
