Job summary

Lynchburg City Schools Information Technology division in Lynchburg, Virginia seeks a Technology Technician I to support and repair technology across the site. The role focuses on hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, with duties spanning installation, configuration, inventory, and on-site technical assistance for staff and students.

Ideal candidates have an Associate's degree (or technical training) and experience with ChromeOS, Windows, and Google services; A+/N+ or AD/Entra

Qualifications

Strong people skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
Experience with ChromeOS, Microsoft Windows, and Google platforms.
A+ Certification and/or N+ Certification is desirable.
Familiar with current versions of Microsoft Windows.
Experience with Active Directory / Entra.
Experience in a Cisco or HPE/Aruba network environment.

Responsibilities

Repair hardware devices.
Solves hardware, software, and/or network problems as requested.
Maintains and orders parts and supplies in cooperation with other personnel.
Configures, maintains, and troubleshoots peripheral devices.
Configures, maintains, and troubleshoots network problems.
Installs hardware and software.
Performs duties as assigned by the Infrastructure Team or the Director of Information Technology.
Provide technical support for staff and students.
