Job summary

Community Consolidated Schools District 168 seeks a Technology/STEM Teacher for Strassburg Elementary (grades 3-5). You will guide students toward intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth, while fostering safe, engaging classrooms.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering instruction, maintaining records, communicating with parents, and participating in faculty meetings; you will uphold district policies and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Teachers' Certificate, registered in South Cook County in present year.
• Experiences/qualifications as deemed necessary by the Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Regularly meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
• Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior,consistent with physical limitations of the individual.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs andcapabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
• Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Evaluates student progress on a regular basis.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
• Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
• Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
• Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
• Strives to establish and maintain cooperative relations with district personnel.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence through participation in; but, not limited to workshops, college course work and seminars.
• Guards the confidentiality of all information placed in charge of this office. Breach of this trust shall be grounds for dismissal.
• Perform such other duties assigned by the Principal or Superintendent of Schools.
