Job summary

M.C. Dean in Charleston, SC, seeks a Tech Specialist 3 to join the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) team.

The role designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services across federal, local and commercial projects. You will lead complex projects, mentor staff, review RFPs, develop BOMs, and ensure high delivery quality while traveling up to 10% and adapting to a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience in electronic security systems or equivalent.
• Associates degree with 8+ years or Bachelor's with 5+ years or Master's with 3+ years experience.
• System administrator experience in triage, problem resolution, and extending workstations and system configurations.
• Vendor certifications for electronic systems preferred.
• Travel up to 10% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze standards, processes, and templates; recommend improvements.
• Communicate with customers, manufacturers, vendors, and system admins.
• Train security engineers on Access Control, Video Management, and Intrusion Detection configurations.
• Prepare SOP documentation and participate in coordination calls for delivery.
• Lead design review sessions and client communications to ensure design quality.
• Develop and improve design standards for complex projects.

We are seeking a Tech Specialist 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

• Analyze standards, processes, templates - recommend improvements
• Communicate directly with customers, manufacturers, vendors and system administrators
• Train security engineers, technicians, technical specialists on Access Control, Video Management, Perimter Intrusion Detection configuration, troubleshooting, testing.
• Organize and prepare detailed documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Participate in coordination calls with the engineering team and designated project manager to ensure proper communication and delivery.
• Attend coordination calls with contractors/trade groups to coordinate dependencies with regards to security drawings and installation.
• Track revisions, RFIs, submittals, Bill of Materials throughout project lifecycle.
• Lead Design Review sessions with team members and Page Turn review calls with the client.
• Developing and improving design standards.
• Leading complex projects, mentoring and overseeing projects execution through design excellence processes, ensuring high delivery quality
• Leading Pre-Installation Testing & Check Out of security equipment for various projects - coordinating schedule, checklist, and shipment due dates.
• Review Request for Proposals (RFP) documentation, Statement of Work, and Client Specifications provided for new project bids.
  Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and Forecast Engineering Time for new project bids.
• Provide in person site surveys and field troubleshooting/commissioning support.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems or
• Associates with 8+ years of experience or
• Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years experience or
• Master's Degree with 3+ years experience
• System administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving the system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, and implementing new workstations and system extensions
• Vendor certifications for electronic systems preferred
• Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends
• Ability to travel up to 10%
