Job summary

The City of Cortez, CO is seeking a mid-level Technical Services Librarian to ensure accurate records, smooth access to library materials, and reliable patron support. This onsite, full-time role serves the Cortez community and collaborates with staff across departments.

You will manage interlibrary loan, catalog new items, maintain files, assist with money handling, and teach patrons basic computer skills while helping users search databases.

Qualifications

• Proficiency searching databases and strong computer literacy.
• Clear written and verbal communication; strong customer service skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers and the public.
• Ability to count money and maintain accurate records.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus 1+ year cataloging and interlibrary loan experience (or equivalent).
• Valid Colorado driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage interlibrary loan services and coordinate resource sharing.
• Catalog new and replacement items in the integrated library system.
• Maintain files, records, and related clerical documentation.
• Assist with basic money handling as needed.
• Help patrons understand library services and materials.
• Teach patrons essential computer skills and support database searching.
