Job summary

We. Communications is seeking an Account Director to lead and execute communications strategy and media engagement for Microsoft’s business, translating complex tech into clear stories and aligning with broader company needs.

You will manage day-to-day client relationships, guide senior-level media outreach, and oversee a team, with opportunities to shape executive talk tracks and measured outcomes across earned and owned media.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience in integrated communications or PR, preferably in an agency setting and/or within an applicable industry.
• 3-5 years of experience in integrated communications/PR, preferably in an agency setting and/or within an applicable industry. Understanding of communications workflows.
• 2-4 years of management experience required.
• 2+ years of experience with corporate image, issues/crisis management, and/or strategic communications across multiple audience segments.

Responsibilities

• Grow and maintain client relationships and provide strategic and tactical counsel.
• Lead projects demonstrating strategic planning, creative thinking, and measurable business value.
• Identify storytelling opportunities and new approaches to audience engagement.
• Coordinate news planning and execution across project steps; support integrated campaigns.
• Engage with senior media/influencers and pitch proactively.
• Monitor media coverage and translate insights into recommendations.
• Write and edit pitches, media materials, and coverage reports.
• Oversee staff resources and budgeting.
• Develop career growth and performance of direct reports.
• Other duties as assigned.
