Job summary

We. Communications is seeking an Account Manager to support communications strategy and media engagement for Microsoft's business in the United States. You will translate complex issues into clear narratives, manage day-to-day client needs, drive PR campaigns, and foster media and influencer relationships.

Ideal candidates are proactive, with strong analytical writing and relationship-management skills, capable of guiding programs in moments that matter and potentially managing direct reports.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in integrated communications or PR, preferably in an agency setting; 1+ years of management experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in strategic communications, corporate image, or issues management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and experience using AI tools like Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Manage news announcements and media cycles across corporate issues to coordinate responses.
• Build and maintain relationships with reporters, influencers and content creators.
• Counsel clients and internal stakeholders, managing expectations and risks.
• Lead planning sessions for storytelling opportunities and audience engagement.
• Draft pitches, media materials, FAQs, executive briefs, reactive statements, and coverage reports.
• Monitor media and social conversations; translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Support earned, owned, social, and influencer campaigns and track performance.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts across client, agency, and partner teams.
• May manage development of direct reports and ensure team accountability.
• Other duties as assigned.
