Job summary

Avantor is seeking an Associate Counsel to join the technology and information security legal team in Washington, DC. The role focuses on cloud technology, digital platforms and SaaS transactions, handling licensing and technology vendor agreements enterprise-wide.

You will partner with IT, Privacy, Sourcing and Sales to enable technology use while drafting and negotiating diverse agreements. You will draft, review and revise agreements, learn Avantor contracting policies, and advise

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school.
Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the bar of at least one US State or DC.
Meets local legal license requirements.
5–10 years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Draft, review and revise agreements for routine sales and non-standard contracts.
Advise on complex IT vendor agreements and digital product contracting.
Develop playbooks and templates for consistent legal review across IT engagements.
Coordinate with Sourcing, Sales and IT to align with business strategies.
Assist in data processing agreement reviews and internal approvals.
Identify process improvements and manage contract negotiations with cross-departmental teams.
