Job summary

Middleburg Communities seeks a Technology Operations Administrator to own day-to-day technology operations across offices, sites, and construction locations. You will manage devices, asset records, and vendor coordination while partnering with an MSP for first-line support.

Ideal candidates have hands-on IT experience, strong people skills, and a willingness to travel ~30% to deploy and document technology at various sites. A relevant IT degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in IT support or a similar hands-on tech role.
• Hands-on with business computers, mobile devices, hardware, and imaging.
• Networking fundamentals; troubleshoot site connectivity.
• Security hygiene: MFA, patching, least privilege, phishing awareness.
• Experience maintaining asset records and inventory.
• Strong organization and follow-through; close loops without reminders.
• Good manners with people; patient and calm under pressure.
• Willingness to be coached and grow responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel ~30%.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in IT or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own lifecycle of company-issued technology: configuration, deployment, maintenance, repair, refresh, and retirement.
• Perform hands-on hardware work: upgrades, imaging, peripherals and workstation setup.
• Manage user accounts, group membership, and access within defined boundaries.
• Coordinate with our MSP to keep devices current on patching and security agent compliance.
• Maintain conference room, presentation, and shared-office technology in working order.
• Onboarding/offboarding: equipment, accounts, access on day one; transfers completed.
• Provide responsive technology support across locations; create simple onboarding materials.
• Maintain asset records; tagging, audits, and lifecycle reporting.
• Procurement: prepare purchase requests and orders; coordinate delivery and returns.
• Cellular and connected devices: activations, transfers, renewals, plan changes.
• Track licensing and renewals; surface savings and cost allocations.
• Vendor coordination with MSP and hardware/service vendors; manage tickets.
• Documentation: runbooks and standard procedures for repeatable work.
• Audit/compliance support with CTO; gather records and evidence.
• Identify recurring issues; propose improvements.
• Sites and Field Support: travel ~30% to deploy and document technology at locations.
