Job summary

Columbia Public School District in Columbia, Missouri is hiring a Media Instructional Aide for Cedar Ridge Elementary to teach foundational technology skills and support the media center. This full-time IA role lasts 35 hours per week and involves assisting the media specialist, supervising students, and helping with lesson design.

The ideal candidate will have a Missouri substitute teaching certificate or equivalent, and experience with students.

Qualifications

Missouri substitute teaching certificate or higher教育 equivalent.
36+ college credit hours, or Associates degree, or 20-hour DESE sub course.
Bachelor’s degree and Missouri teaching certificate preferred.
Ideal candidate has professional and friendly demeanor and ability to work in a team teaching setting.

Responsibilities

Teach foundational technology skills on the elementary specials rotation.
Serve as the building media clerk when not teaching.
Supervise students in the media center and/or computer lab.
Assist the media specialist in lesson design based on school needs.
Understand how to utilize hardware (iPad and Windows OS) for learning and instruction.
Provide assistance in clerical tasks as needed.
Participate in appropriate in-service training.
