Job summary

Pennsylvania State University’s Office of Technology Transfer is hiring two Technology Licensing Officers to manage IP portfolios and guide inventors from disclosure through licensing. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field (Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or Engineering).
• 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Strong judgment and soft skills to interface with faculty, business contacts and investors.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio Management within Agricultural Sciences, Life Sciences or Physical Sciences/Engineering, including outreach to new inventors and triage of disclosures.
• Implement patent strategy: timeliness of filing and managing patent processes from provisional filing to expiration/abandonment.
• Liaise with innovators, patent attorneys, and licensees on patent strategy matters.
• Assist in marketing IP to identify opportunities for partnerships or licensing.
• Assist in negotiation and execution of license agreements.
• Identify opportunities to increase OTT’s success toward its goals.
• Other duties as assigned.
