• Implement patent strategy: timeliness of filing and managing patent processes from provisional filing to expiration/abandonment.
• Liaise with innovators, patent attorneys, and licensees on patent strategy matters.
• Assist in marketing IP to identify opportunities for partnerships or licensing.
• Assist in negotiation and execution of license agreements.
• Identify opportunities to increase OTT’s success toward its goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

**POSITION SPECIFICS**The **Office of Technology Transfer (OTT)** within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking tofill **two (2) vacancies** for the role of **Technology** **Licensing Associate**.These positions will be located in State College, PA, and each of them will report to an Assistant Director of Technology Licensing.*Candidates must be US Citizens to apply.***Responsibilities:** The primary responsibilities of this position include the following but are not limited to the following:* Portfolio Management either within the Agricultural Sciences, Life Sciences or Physical Sciences/Engineering field which includes providing clarity and outreach to new inventors and triage of new disclosures* Implementing Patent Strategy to include timeliness of filing and managing the initiation of the patent application process from filing a provisional patent application through the expiration or abandonment of an issued patent.* Liaison with innovators, patent attorneys, and licensees on patent strategy matters* Assist or implement marketing intellectual property (IP) to identify opportunities for commercial research and development partnerships and/or licensing.* Assist throughout the negotiation and execution process of our license agreements* Assist in or identify opportunities to increase OTT’s success in reaching our goals* Other duties as assigned**Education and Experience:** This job will be filled at the **Technology Licensing Officer - Intermediate Professional level**. The minimum requirements are a Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in a technical field such as Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, or Engineering) and 1+ years of relevant experience.The successful candidate(s) will have excellent time management skills, and abilities to conduct multiple projects and easily prioritize in a dynamic environment, excellent judgment and soft skills to interface with esteemed faculty members, senior business contacts, and investors, and a high level of dexterity to understand a diverse range of technologies arising from the University’s $1.3 billion annual research base.
