Job summary

Lilly is constructing an advanced manufacturing facility in Goochland County, Virginia, and seeks an Associate Director to lead Technical Services/Manufacturing Science (MSAT) for Bioconjugate/Drug Product manufacturing. The role involves shaping a high-performing TS/MS team, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding process qualifications from startup through operations.

Qualifications

BS, MS, or PhD in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related scientific discipline, with 5+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Minimum of 3+ years in a people leadership role.
Experience in GMP manufacturing operations and supporting regulatory inspections and audits.
Experience in biological drug product manufacturing, with deep expertise in lyophilization process development and optimization.

Responsibilities

Build and lead a TS/MS organization with capability, capacity and culture to operate the facility to high standards.
Lead, develop, retain and coach a high-performing team with a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Provide mentoring and performance management to direct reports and ensure long-term team success.
Determine staffing and resource needs to support startup, qualifications and validations.
Develop and implement robust control strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
