Job summary

Subway is seeking a Tech Lead, Web (React) to set the technical direction for subway.com and adjacent guest-facing surfaces. This hands-on senior role writes production code, mentors engineers, and translates product and design intent into sound frontend architecture.

You will partner with the Sr. Development Manager and Middleware teams to ensure reliable, accessible experiences, while shaping delivery with emphasis on performance and SEO best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field is required.
• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience with React and front-end architecture.
• Experience leading technically without formal people-management authority.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production React/Next.js features across subway.com.
• Own front-end architecture decisions for the web platform.
• Lead code review and mentorship for the web squad.
