Job summary

Waymo is hiring for a senior software role within the Driver Refinement & Validation organization in the Mountain View area. You will report to a Technical Lead Manager and collaborate with engineers, product teams, and partners to advance the Waymo Driver across complex real-world scenarios.

Qualifications

PhD, Masters, or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics.
8+ years of Software Engineering experience in complex systems.
Evaluation experience with scalable eval workflows and ML metrics.
High-quality API design with data-driven approaches.
Experience solving design problems across multiple components.
Two or more years of management experience.

Responsibilities

Design and implement horizontal solutions for behavioral driving across PUDOs.
Build quantitative evaluation techniques to drive data-driven development.
Collaborate with Product and Onboard stack teams.
Mentor junior engineers on the team.
Develop foundational frameworks to advance Waymo Driver capabilities.
Contribute to solving challenging driving scenarios in the long tail.
