Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Consultant, Software Engineer to lead AWD‑NF within the ChorusAWDVenture line. You will influence architecture, guide design and delivery, and partner with engineers, PMs, and vendors to drive reliable, scalable solutions in a cloud environment.

The role includes hands‑on coding, production support, and coaching teammates, with a hybrid schedule and Columbus, Ohio office presence.

Qualifications

• Six years of programming and systems analysis experience.
• Strong foundation in software engineering and SDLC.
• Experience with enterprise tech, APIs, and backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for AWD‑NF within the ChorusAWDVenture line.
• Lead design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable platform capabilities.
• Establish direction across API, database, messaging, and deployment concerns.
• Provide hands‑on support for production stability and incident response.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product managers and architects.
