Job summary

Nutrien is seeking an entry-level Tech II, Quality Lab in Kerman, CA for on-site work. You will perform routine QC tests on materials and finished products, maintain lab equipment, and help develop SOPs while ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree in chemistry or related fields, with 2+ years in a lab and strong math skills. This full-time role offers growth within Nutrien’s quality labs and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in chemistry or related major.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Soil Science, Agronomy, Chemical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years in a laboratory; equivalent degree may be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of chemistry and mathematics.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Quality SOPs and processes.
  • Perform routine QC testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
  • Report quality issues and lead investigations as needed.
  • Maintain equipment, troubleshoot, and repair as needed.
  • Maintain QC logbooks and data interpretation.
  • Generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
  • Develop and author SOPs.
  • Ensure laboratory safety and SHE compliance.

What You'll Do:
  • Adhere to all Quality standard operating procedures (SOPs) and processes.
  • Perform routine QC testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
  • Report quality and process abnormalities to manager and lead investigations as needed.
  • Perform all quality control and quality assurance tests and procedures in a precise, accurate and efficient manner, and follows safety standards and protocols with regards to safe handling of materials.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including hands-on instrument troubleshooting & repair.
  • Maintain QC logbooks, compile and interpret data.
  • Develop and author SOPs.
  • Generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
  • Maintain exemplary laboratory hygiene in terms of safety and SHE compliance.
  • Act as a leader and example for the company's Behavioral Standards, which focus on Safety, Integrity, Inclusion, Performance, Community, and Innovation.
  • Perform other duties as required.
What You'll Bring:
  • Associate degree in chemistry or a related major. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Soil Science, Agronomy, Chemical
  • Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a laboratory; equivalent degree may be considered in lieu of lab experience.
  • Knowledge of Chemistry and Mathematics
  • Extensive experience with MS Office. Experience with SAP QM Modules, LIMs is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently.
Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this role, in Biola, CA location, is between $21.00 - $34.00. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.
